As promised in my update on this scam last week, I am posting today a list of all known fraud phone numbers this company is using. Obviously, this list may not be exhaustive, but it is very likely you are dealing with this scam if you get a call from any of the following phone numbers.
The list is rather long (there are over 70 phone numbers), so a useful trick is to select the entire list with your mouse and press Control-F. Using the “Find” function, you can see if the number you are getting called from is on the list.
Also, keep in mind that this scam company uses MANY phone numbers to harass people, so it could easily be that you are getting calls from them if the number is not on the list.
I also ask that you use the comments section to add any phone numbers that these guys may have called you from.

Here’s another number which they are using 607-595-1857. I received a call today at work. They had all of my information ex.: bank routing number, account number, address, work, references….. and then told me if I did not agree to their terms that they would serve my employer with a law suit to give me and I would be fired. When I continued to ask questions and refused to answer theirs, they started yelling at me and I eventually hung up on them.

Been getting calls from them one day a week, 3X a day. Same four numbers, used on different days. All on my cell phone. I ignore the calls now, but I did listen to the first recorded message. Never had a PayDay Advance loan of any sort.

This guy says his name is Eric Johnson and he totally flips out and repeatedly calls my work demanding to speak to my supervisor – he claims his number is 305-712-3849. Scarey thing is he has all of my info – I don’t know what to do about that. I suppose I should file a police report in case he does anything else with it…

508-436-6828 I have filed police reports, reports with Indiana Attorney General, FTC and my sister who is a state trooper. She has a detective working on it with the FBI. I called them many many times back today and they told me Anthony Cooper would be by to get me by 12:00, it’s 12:59 now, I called them back to ask where he was. They get very mad when you repeatedly call them back. They’ve also told two police officers to F off and told my sister that women couldn’t be officers.

Debbie – if you paid them by credit card or debit card you should be able to dispute the charge with Visa or Mastercard. If it was bank draft, talk to your bank. If it was Western Union or Moneygram, you are likely out of luck. Let us know how it goes.

They are now going through the/your local directory assitance; therefore the number on the caller id has the same area code you’re in… you don’t get any of the other numbers until they give it to you on the phone… hope someone squashes these people soon!!

This guy has been harassing me for the past six months. He calls from 607-595-1857 and various other numbers listed above. I called him on Thanksgiving when he called my phone over 10 times, and told him if he called my number again I would report him to the FBI. He began fake sobbing, and then turned vulgar. Saying that our FBI could hang on his private parts. THIS GUY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. I had to change my cell phone number, and now he is calling my mother and sister. I traced it back to a Payday loan from Cashnet USA. They say on their website that their security was breached. This guy got all of the phone numbers I listed as a reference and is now harassing them. How do I make this guy stop? I have tried reporting him to the FTC, where they said they do not have any information on the guy, the Texas AG’s office, and the FBI (in which they referred me to the FTC. I know this is a fake, but is still driving me and my family nuts with his calls!!!

Victoria – I could not find anything on CashNet USA’s site that indicated that they had a breach? As I’ve stated before, I have heard many people that were victims of this scam say they never had a payday loan with CashNet nor did they ever apply. I think they just use their name since they are the largest online payday lender in the U.S.

I have received several calls from the numbers listed below. They do not give me their name and say that I owe money to some place I’ve never even heard of. Last week they called my mom and harrassed her as well saying things like, “is this mommy?” and “where the f*ck is she?”. This is just disrespectful!!! I have worked very hard to correct my credit and now I’m getting calls and my parents are getting calls. How do they get our numbers?? I have also tried to call the numbers back after they don’t leave a voicemail and never get an answer. How can I block these numbers from calling my cell phone?

Erin – I would talk to your cellular provider to see if you can block the numbers, but it’s doubtful since they switch around numbers often. The best way to get them to stop is to ignore and/or hang up on them quickly. The longer the discussion, the more they think they are making progress in harassing and intimidating you into paying them.

Also be aware that they will give you attorney’s names if you ask… the ones I’ve gotten from them most frequently are John Grogan, Steven McDonald, and Christopher Jeffrey, all out of California. Of course none of the attorneys show up on the California State Bar website.
Once I received a call from Brian King, I asked for the name of the attorney involved in the supposed law suit, and he said Brian King! I asked him… isn’t that your name? He hung up. I love it when I can get them so flustered that they actually hang up on me rather than the other way around.

I’ve been dealing with these idiots for some months now. They call every few weeks with the same story. Same MO as everyone here has said. They will call your friends if you don’t agree to pay them and if you hang up on them they just keep calling you back. That assumes the their calls don’t disconnect on their own, which has happened a lot to me. I don’t think they have very good quality signals. Between that and their heavy accents it is often very difficult to figure out what they want. One trick I used that seems to have worked (been over a month and no calls) I just told them I was unemployed and didn’t have any money. That seems to have stopped them from calling. For now, anyway.

haha…i almost got scammed… same thing…. saying they were investigating a internet fraud payday loan…I could not even understand what the heck he was saying…. he almost had me until I asked for more details… he said it was from quickcash.net and it was from 2010 no other info… told me i would be criminally charged etc..etc.. I was really scared…cuz i knew i was default on a payday loan.. ( i have worked it out) but in the meantime i told the rep at the actual payday loan company of this and he said that it is a huge scam..says unfortunately people get scammed by them all the time and because they are in India they cant be touched by our laws… My harrasser (? word not sure) was Douglas Brown and when they call 0000 comes up on my phone.. to call them back he said I should call 661 347 6521 I did… it goes to a voice mail then immediately i get a call back from the 0000 number… saying i missed a call from this number… and asked who i was calling for… I told him (douglas yeah right) that I worked it out with my PDL company he said it was not the same.. and that if I didnt work with them then they will send officers and I could sort it out in court…I am waiting…. scary he has all of my info though… REAL scary..

Any idea as to how they get our numbers? My number is a cell number. I don’t answer; just click the “ignore”, and they never leave a message. I can only assume that if I got a new number, they’d find that out somehow (I own a domain, maybe through ICANN or something?) if I had to update necessary contact info.

The most recent # is 347-450-9016…says her name is Linda Brown from the State Bureau of New York. She has a very heavy Indian accent. So far my calls have been from Austin, Eric, Brian, Morris and Eric again today threatening an arrest warrant.
Phone number came in listed as Brenda Morales at 951-682-3367. Tempted to call back and let “Brenda” know that he/she sounds a lot like Austin, Eric and Brian who have been calling.
Same heavy accented voice definitely Middle Eastern.

Derrick Smith is his name (broken english) calling from 646-499-4984 calling my employer and my cellular. I reached out to an FBI agent who advise to ignore the calls and if you do happen to answer the call do not release any information. She says that they have a calling card or something that allows them to call from anywhere so the numbers constantly change but the scam is the same. They are making every effort to catch them but they have not been able to get them. Maybe its a job for Dateline’s Chris Hanson “How to catch a Scam Artist”. Its scary to know that they have as much information as they do. But be safe and ignore.

I have been being harrassed by these people, on and off, for about 3 years. Most recently, I’ve had two very aggressive calls in one day – one from 704-268-9765 and one from 858-346-1128. I generally tell these people to leave me alone and hang up on them, but sometimes, they really get to me. Today, one left me an “urgent” voice mail and then called my place of business! When I told her not to call that number and hung up, she called back again!
Does anyone have any words of advice on how to get these calls to stop. Every time I think they are leaving me alone, they start up again!

Just so everyone knows, I talked to the local police as well as the FBI. There really isn’t much they can do about these scammers except protest to the Indian government. Which is next to bubkis.
The good folks at the FBI did tell me some interesting info, as they have been receiving complaints about these guys since 2006 or so. What they think happens is that these payday loan companies have call centers in India. Certain criminal elements bribe call center managers for name lists, which include personal information. They then take the lists to their own call centers and start harrassing Americans.
Insofar as the phone numbers, there is no pattern or rhyme or reason to them. They use a VOIP and just input whatever number they want when they make the call. So it can come up on your phone as anything really.

Same problem here, calls, calls, and more calls from these scam artists. They’ve been calling my job, and my cell phone. They’ve even called one of my friends. They have managed to get my personal info, too. They have threatened a pending case, and sending sherrif to pick me up. Luckily, the day I received the first two messages from my work office, I called it and heard all of this mess, then searched on internet and found it to be a scam. When they called back, I told them I was on to them and had reported it to Attny General, I told the lady (who had thick accent) not to call me again, and she told me in a smart alec voice that she would call me as much as she wanted to. I hung up. Days later, the calls began again. The office at work told them I no longer worked there. The calls on my cell phone, I told the man that I was recording these calls for as per the Attny Gen’s advice, as they were investigating them. He laughed at me and asked why am I doing this, I told him “Why are you doing this?” I told him that I am not going to let them scam me, He told me that I am going to go to jail…. I told him to BRING IT ON! and hung up. I hope they will stop. I am a school teacher, and it is embarrassing to get these calls at work.

Had the same kind of call, I live in Wyoming, surprised that they had alot of my personal information. THey wanted 615$ wanted me to fax a letter stating that I give them permision to debit my account so that I can avoid having to go to court. They wanted a copy of my DL#, CC# with expiration date and three digit code on back. Want to get the message out there to people so that these guys realize they are wasting their time.

This same guy calls me daily with a different name each time. Today his name is Daniel Page. It is always a very American-sounding name. The threats consist of lawsuit, arrest, coming to my home, etc. He calls at home and at work. Today’s call-back number is 916-221-5052. He has a very thick Indian accent and is very rude. He usually doesn’t even get around to telling me what the debit is for or how much it is; he is so busy telling me that he wants my attorney’s information that he seems to forget why he called.

Got a call at work today from a man with a heavy indian accent claiming to be George Williams, telling me i am involved in a lawsuit for a payday loan (that i never even got). When i called them back i got a man named Glenn Williams. He said i owed $529 and some odd cents. When i asked him the name of the company that is sueing me he told me “Do not interupt me again until I am finished.” Excuse me? That was just rude. I was told then that this had to paid immediately to avoid arrest. I do not have Caller ID at work, but the number they left to call them back was 209-498-0509.

These numbers call all day long and have called the workplace twice claiming that I owe money to USCash and cash.net. Can’t hardly understand them because they speak english so poorly and I hear so poorly. He said he need me to get a lawyer because they have lawyers, P.I.’s and Cops working on there side that I will be sued. I told him I don’t know these companies that he mention but I don’t owe them. Then he get nasty and reveal some of my personal information. How did he get that information? This started about a month ago. On my telephone at home I have blocked out all unknown and blocked calls so they cannot call without identifying themselves.
I told him the last time that he was a nasty liar and I was calling the Legal Authorities on him because he had harrassed and made me fee uncomfortable long enough. The last call was on June2nd.

This one takes the cake. I just got a phone call 614-448-1081 from a Jake Dawson from the Ohio Police Dept. Right!!. I thought police dept.s went by City,Town or County names not States. When I called back they didn’t answer with the police dept. name just hello. When Jake finally got on the phone I asked what company he was with he gave me some other name, of course he had the same foreign accent. He threatened me with Jail and Police will come to my place of business to arrest me. Couldn’t even give me the name of payday loan company only parent company which I never heard of. And when I told him I reported him to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission ) which is Federal and over any police dept. and that he would be hearing from them. Guess what. He told me to look for the police and F*** U and hung up!!!! Guess that proved the point.

I got a call from a man claiming to be a Kevin Johnson with some law firm says some company filed an affidavit on me and was gonna put me in jail said that it was the srtate of california and the state of Florida because the company is in Cali and i live in Florida said that i needed to pay them in two payments if i wanted to settle out of cpurt. I am glad I am not alone in this mess!
Have been receiving phone calls from these people for the past 3 weeks ever since I tried to apply for a payday loan, then backed out of it before actually having the money sent directly to me.
Needless to say, the application for a payday loan was SO not worth it for all of this BULLCRAP that I’ve had to put up with. They have harrassed my husband and threatened to throw him in jail if we didn’t pay in a half an hour. He wanted me to go to WM and get a prepaid card (not a gift card) for $20, then upload the rest of the money and then call him back with the information. He said it was an outstanding debt from a payday loan in the amount of $289.52. Since I never received no money, I wasn’t going to pay him anything! He got very nasty with me and threatened to put a blackmark on my husband’s SS# and make sure that my husband would not be able to receive any SS money in the future, and to make my husband’s life a living hell! I went to the bank, informed them of what was going on, when the man called back. He said that I didn’t call him back in a half an hour like I said I would. Both the banker and me asked questions as to when this money was deposited in our account, and on what date, and he got nasty and rude, and then the banker chimed in and said, “Well, you do whatever it is you have to do.” The man got mad and hung up!
I texted my husband today, and put the phone number he was calling from in there. So, my husband calls him back, and asks the guy if he tried to contact me,
and the guy said no. Then my husband said, “Yes, you did. She texted me the
phone number you are calling on”. He denied it again. Later on, when I called him
back, he asked for my phone number, I knew that he had it, but as I started to
rattle off the numbers, he chimed in with the last four digits!
When I was still on the phone with him, I asked him questions about the money
that was owed, and he said, “I am not at liberty to discuss your husband’s information with a third party.” I said, “I am not a third party, I am his wife!!” Then he tells me how much my husband “supposedly” owes. If he is not at liberty to discuss this information, then why did he tell me how much my husband owes? These guys can’t even get their stories straight.
They are habitual liars and they have no problem with making your life miserable, and making you feel belittled and small and defenseless.

I don’t wish anything bad on anybody, but this garbage has got to STOP!!!
If the US Government can send troops over to the Middle East to hunt down and kill Osama Bin Laden, why can’t they put a stop to these people for doing what they are doing. It’s harrassment folks, plain and simple.

I should say next time they call, “If I want to be scared, I will go and watch Ghost Adventures, but you don’t scare me!!”

Sorry if it seems like my story has holes in it, but I am trying to recount the days events the best that I can. After he got nasty and rude with me, I felt like I was going to be sick to my stomach! His story had so many holes in it. Once I calmed down, I knew this wasn’t legit! I didn’t get no money from anybody, and certainly not for that amount. When I tried to apply for a loan, it was only for $500. I wasn’t happy with that, because we needed more than that. That’s why I backed out of the loan. These people can get you so flustered. You feel like you can’t even think straight.
I should mention, that I applied for the loan on my husband’s behalf. I didn’t have a job because I am a stay-at-home mom and I have 2 kids one of which has delays, both verbally and physically.
I told my husband about it, afterwards, but the damage was done. We were both receiving texts, and phone calls from all kinds of lenders that was wanting to send us money. I even had one text that said that we could get as much as $1500 deposited the very next day! But after everything that happened, I decided
that I didn’t want any part of this anymore.
Might I add, that there was 3 weeks time difference here. We received alot of texts in the beginning, then the texts tapered off, and then the phone calls started rolling in.
When my husband called them, he talked to them, then immediately called me back and said, “Pay it off, just pay it off! I don’t want to go to court for this. He said we can settle out of court.”
I said, “Hold on a minute! I didn’t receive any money from nobody because I backed out of receiving any money because it wasn’t the amount that we needed or wanted.” My husband said, “I don’t care. Just pay them off so they won’t keep calling me at work!”
I got off the phone trying to figure out what in the world to do. My husband texted me about an hour later, after having talked to some fellow employees, and told me to not do anything. Don’t send any money! So, I didn’t. I decided to look up information about fraudulent phone calls having to do with payday loans, and after much searching and reading, I came across this site and decided to tell my story, and what a story, er, should I say book, it is!
I hope that my story is similiar to someone else’s.
I also want to add, that across the street from us lives a couple that work for the police department. That helps if you know someone like that, that you can talk to.

I will alert my work phone secretary they are scamming. This has happened to me before by the way, almost two years ago, and they made me pay by mail order, this is when I realized I was being scammed. I never got a confirmation email fromthe other one like I asked them to do. Everyone of these that have called me have had strong accents. I could barely understand the one who called today!!!!! They leave threatening messages about crime and being arrested at work etc. How can I get this to stop????

408-688-2598 This Indian guy called and said he was with a law firm trying collect on a payday loan of $300. He said that we had paid 2 payments of $90 and the 3rd was declined 3x. Well we never got a payday loan and if they tried to get $90 from our account, it wouldn’t decline it because we have money in there. He told me that I had 2 options: To settle the matter for $380 or pay a lawyer $800 and fight it. I told him we’d fight it and he started telling me how much that didn’t make since. Needless to say I got off the phone and pulled in at the bank (I was on my way home from work). I talked to the man at the bank and he wanted the phone number and tried calling it back and the accent was so thick that he couldn’t understand where he said he was from. I could barely understand him myself. He checked my account and everything looks ok. The thing is he called back again and I had a few choice things to say to him. Hopefully it won’t be a problem anymore. I will be checking my account regularly and I also told my wife to beware. She has been getting relentless text messages and emails from payday loan places.

hounded by them for 3 years, changed my phone number 3 times, and today had my phone voluntarily disconnected at great inconvenience to me. I had a pay day loan, but paid it off. Their calls have been intensely threatening, the last being an affidavit they sent via e-mail defining 3 criminal charges they planned to bring against me 7/4/11 in Supreme Court. here are the numbers i have. 888-266-1667 .. 888-588-3429 … 866-599-5783.. unfortunately the did get me for 49.00 . they sound so threatening and they have so much of your info. even though i knew i never had a payday loan it was so scarey , they were calling my family, my employer, neighbors numbers i didn’t even know. it was awful. so i called him and he said his name was anthony cartell, and it was a payday loan form 2007 and since i never filed a complaint against the company for fraud then i had to pay. i asked how could i file a complaint about something i knew nothing about, he said i could pay 50.00 today to stop the processor from serving a warrant for me. he told me to go get a pre paid card from my local walmart and cal him back with the amount. i called and the card declined. not knowing on my part it cost 1.00 to use the card . i called back , a guy named alex answered i explained , he took the 49.00 payment and said mr cartell will call back to set up future payments. instantly the phone rang , mr cartell saying i must pay in full in the next 15 days 225.00 and 15 days after that an additional 225.00 or legal issues will happen. the call ended . this was monday july 18,2011… since i have received at least 30 or more calls from brown and scott, brown andrew and scott law firm , and ms andrews and alex and whoever else. i decided to look this up on the internet. and boy was i shocked.. yes they got me for 49.00, but they will never get another cent. i got some words for them when they call again. i might be so froghtening they’ll be sending me money … but to everyone out there . PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!! look into things like this before making the mistake i made,, it could have been a lot more ,and just think about our elderly, they target them all the time. my mother is 81 yrs old and she was ready to pay for me, because she frightened as well. I have called the police about it before, they told me to tell them i know this is a scam and hang up, that did work for a while. have been called since late may/early june…did block several numbers…do have two legitimate paypayloans which are being paid…however, I applied a few months ago on another site and thats when the calls started…the first time they called, the man who was indian, said in a heavy accent that I needed to call him back about this or they would forward the info to a court…I could not understand much of what he said…since then, there have been a few calls a week, ppl leaving voice mails which again, cannot be understood…was wondering if I should just ignore the calls or report to FBI? its very annoying….after my 2 loans are paid off, I wont be applying for anymore…I check my bank acct and everything is fine…

I’ve gotten the same phone calls from a 818 area code. An Indian is talking and he calls my work and tells them he has a lawsuit filed on me. And they have called my home, my parents, and boyfriend. They have said an Attorney Norton wanted to speak to me from Agauna Hills Ca. The phone number is a landline. which surprised me. But there is never a lawyer by the name Norton there, he is out. But they will handle it. It sounds like a phone room for phone room sales!!! So much noise and so many voices.
I turned off my phone I got a new cell phone.Now Im thinking of changing jobs and move in with boyfriend. lol Like having to be in the witness protection !!!!

Rec’d a call yesterday at work from 917-628-2327 in a thick India accent said his name was Brian Marshall lol, all of us at work messed with him bad and unfortunately he called our hospital about 25 times in 45 min. and cussed at us and told us all kind of off the wall things. Today we rec’d a call from 601-680-3801 same accent said his name was Adam Scott. He started rambling some nonsense that our facility was in some kind of violation and will be in a legal mess if we don’t send money. Wow they are really getting annoying. The calls started with the same bull…. about the payday loans and when he realized he wasn’t getting anywhere with that I guess he tried another avenue..won’t get anywhere with that either.

I received a message on my cell phone from a man with a heavy Indian accent he called himself Rayham Butler. The message left stated that the minute I received the message I should call him back at 404-478-6531, this was a time sensitive issue and either my attorney or I should call back. If I did not call back they only thing he could do for me is wish me good luck to what would happen next.
I’ve been receiving these calls for months. They call back to back constantly. I told them do what you have to do. I also told them I was going to report them. It must be something that can be done. I did apply online which I thought was secure for a payday loan I never received. This is scary that someone has my SS#, address, Bank name and account #. I know I’ll never apply on-line for anything again. I’ll do good old snail mail.

number today to return is 661-731-3306 name is Jessica Angel but obviously a heavy indian accent and when I call back I am told she is a supervisor so I can talk to whoever answers, that is probably a code name for what scam they are trying to run on me. I suggested they send me a letter.

a! I have been getting calls from the same people, but they’re using a new number now which is 310-495-5211. Of course, it’s another middle eastern woman who claims her name is Christina Johnson. I laughed at her and she put some guy on the phone who said he would rape me or send the police to my house if I didn’t pay the payday loan. (This was at work)

Then the people I work with got on the phone and started laughing at him to. He then hung up the phone just to start calling my cell phone number.
I then “acted” like I was terrified and I begged them if I could give them my attorney’s information. He said said yes… so I gave him 202-324-3000 and asked him to ask for the Fraud Department.
Little did he know that was the number to the FBI headquarters. LOL
I haven’t heard from those bastards since. Maybe we should all give them the number to our “new” banks so this can be settled (a.k.a. FBI number).
Talk about someone being caught red handed when you CALL the FBI on yourself. LOL

Call them back; don’t answer when they call.
Ask for all of the names you know (they will know who you are) then tell them to quit scamming people or make fun of them or anything; they will hang up on you and you’ll be free of calls for a day or a week until they get a new number to call from.

He also said if I sent the $250.00 he will never bother me again and where he wants me to send it: He said to use a green form and send to the name Gloria Scott in Wilson City, NC that is all the info he gave me. That he is the ICI meaning he was the Internet Criminal Investigator. I threatend the police on him and he said to go ahead and call the police. I guess I will just keep hanging up on him maybe he will get tired and quit he will finally figure he is not getting a penny out of me.

I told my boss and my coworkers about the harrassment to hopefully get them to stop. I am contacting the credit bureaus, changing my phone number, and reporting these people to the authorities.

I was confused and since the person stated he was an officer and that charges were going to be filed I accepted to pay the loan and unfortunately He scam me out of $585.00. He used the name of Sam Watson he send me a e-mail with all my information and acct #. The second time I was contacted it sounded like the same person with the indian accent but he stated his name was Neil Watson and I owed $432.00 and that criminal charges were being filed and unfortunately I feal for his scam and paid him again it wasn’t until I started getting different calls from a Jack Smith, Eric Brown, Jeff Anderson and a Niel Stevens that I got concern with because most of this persons had almost the same accent. At one point I called Cash Advance USA and the person inform me I had never applied for a loan with them that the persons contacting me were more likely scammers. When I started not answering my phone and not talking to them they started leaving me threatening messeges one called me a stupid woman and that I would have an officer picking me up with in 7 days and that God help me. I have been receiving calls from these people for the last couple of months. The first one who called was Sam Watson stating that I was going to be arrested for fraud etc. for taking out a payday loan with CashNet USA back in May 2011. They had all of my information so I asked for proof of the transaction because I went to my bank and checked my account. I have never taken a loan from them. The number then was 901-302-9723. Today I received a call from 310-853-3491 and spoke with Rich a supervisor who gave all my information to me stating the same thing that the case was going to sent to cops who would pick me up for fraud. I asked when this transaction took place and he told me last month with the same company CashNet USA. I asked him what account it went to and he gave me a bank account that has been closed for three months now. I told him I wanted proof again and he said he would look into and get back to me. What a scam. I am going to file a police report on this.

I received a call from these jokers as well. It actually caught me of guard and scared the heck out of me. The number came up as “unknown” on my cell but the number I was advised to call back was 661-731-3249. The thing that freaked me out the most was the fact they had all of my personal information. Luckily I was at my computer and found this site as I was on the phone with the guy, after advising that I found the scam site he promptly hung up on me. I have been using the really cool Android application “PrankDial” to call them several times a day and they don’t seem to like that very much! I have some pretty hilarious recordings. My concern now is that they might call my employer or the contacts they have as my references, plus they have my social. Has anyone figured out how to stop them? Another concern is the fact that my online payday loan was originated August 2011, so they are obtaining very recent information.

A long errie silence…then he rattled on about transferring me to an attorney I did call my banker she suggested we change my account number first thing in the morning I also have read the other posts here about Homeland Security and I will follow through with that as well …hmmmm I wish everyone well with this situation I can change my cell phone # My boss will block the numbers as they come in there were some reference numbers of a friend or two I gave on these loan apps but they will just cuss someone out if they even hear a Indian accent as we are all mutually fed up with Dell & AT&T off hours using Indian cs reps I think if you follow the precautions such as changing your account numbers and ignoring the calls to the best of your wits then they have nothing to go on…… it is in effect just a game to get into your pocket book

I finally got them to tell me what this was in reference to and he said a CASHNET.COM loan for $2000. I NEVER had a loan from cashnet.com so after telling them dumba##es off i called cashnet.com.. They dont have any information on me in their system. So the next time these SCAMMERS call me Im gonna tell them a thing or two AGAIN!

this has been happening to me for months now and normally i just ignore the call and then listen to the outrageous voicemail and delete it. but today i was fed up and i answered the phone and said “stop calling this number!!” and i hung up the phone. well, that started a firestorm of calls that would not stop! the numbers that show up on my phone are not always the ones they call from. sometimes it wouldnt be enough numbers or it would say 0000000 or 111111111. today after i answered and hanging up the number came up as 911!! is that even legal!?!?!? i dont think it is! the last straw was when i told the guy he had the wrong number and he yelled “andrea, you are going to be locked up!” i ran upstairs grabbed my computer and called customer service and changed my phone number within 5 min! i have had it! changing your number is a pain but i would do anything to stop these calls and hopefully i have! good luck to everyone else! seems the only thing to do is change your number, as painful and annoying as that is and file and equifax report to keep and eye on identity theft.

12/01/2010—The IC3 receives a high volume of complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. In these scams, a caller claims that the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check cashing services.
One of the most insidious aspects of this scam is that the callers have accurate information about the victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. The method by which the fraudsters obtained the personal information is unclear, but victims often relay that they had completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls began.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide to the victims any details of the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers threaten victims with legal actions, arrests, and in some cases physical violence if they refuse to pay. In many cases, the callers even resort to harassment of the victim’s relatives, friends, and employers.
Some fraudsters instruct victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain dollar amount, on a specific date, via prepaid visa card. The statement further declares that the victim would never dispute the debt.
These telephone calls are an attempt to obtain payment by instilling fear in the victims. Do not follow the instructions of the caller.
If you receive telephone calls such as these, you should:
■Contact your banking institutions;
■Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file;
■Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger;
■File a complaint at http://www.IC3.gov.

yeah one of my coworkers has been getting the calls. So i just tell them exactly what they are doing and, that i know they are using a magic jack. I also ask lots of questions. Then here is the best part I take down the #, and call them back at my Leisure (from a different phone) and harass them and record it for my own amusement. one of my favorite lines is My name is “Iam Dumbindian” then i spell out for them. or i put on a fake indian accent and do what they do “dis is paydey loan blah blah blah durka durka.” the ones i deal with don’t seem to have an endless supply of #’s (otherwise why would they reuse the same ones) so you can harm them by spamming the phone line with prank calls.
this causes them to switch #s and get very angry. one guy i called back 20 times. He told me to stop calling this #.

I had a call today rom Sandra Cox of Mackenize Attorney or Lawsuti phone 917-595-2000 and a fax number of 979-665-4854 asking for me to resolve problem out of court and pay them 455.00 asap and would not provide me with the contract that was complete but claim the loan was with American Payday and that the paperwork was given to me via email which is an email that I do not use for personal private information and they used a bank name that I never had anything to deal with.

For some reason they always go back to the year 2006 or 2007. This women’s name was maria something i couldn’t understand her heavy indian accent. I keep getting calls on my work phone from this guy claiming to be Jack Watson, called and left messages from 2 different numbers, same threats as listed above. Got very angry when i looked this up while he was on the line and told him he was a scammer and he could speak directly to my lawyer. 2/1/2012 just got a msg left on my cell phone that i needed to return their call asap or else, regarding some pay day loan which i have never done , from a man with a heavy indian accent. Told me that i would be arrested and put in jjail and a warrant would be issued and the police would show up at my door, The phone number for this message came from # 917-628-2494. He was very demanding and rude.
2/4/2012 got another message left on my cell phone insisting and demanding that i better not disregard this call, or they would hate to see the situation that would be brought on me. This man also had a heavy indian accent. He said that i better respond in a timely manner or else, and would not be responsible for what would happen to me if i didn’t. He said that all he could do was wish me good luck, and take care, and god bless you. Also demanded that i have my attorney call them asap. The phone# of this call came from # 707-969-0053. This may be a scam, but it is still upsetting when you have people like that harrassing you. These people need to be arrested and put in jail for what they are doing to innocent people.

THE NUMBER THAT I GOT WAS 858-222-0687, SAME MO INDU GUY, HAD PERSONAL INFO ABOUT ME SAYING I OWED MONEY TO A COMPANY THAT IS CALLED AMERICAN PAYDAY LOAN. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS REAL CAUSE OF ALL THE INFO THAT THEY HAD ON ME, BUT THEN I KEEP ASKING THEM QUESTIONS AND THEY COULDNT EVEN GIVE ME THE ANSWERS TO THEN I TYPED IN THE WORD AMERICAN PAYDAY LOAN AND SAW THE SCAM ALERT. NEEDLESS TO SAY WHILE I WAS TYPING THIS THEY CALLED BACK AND THREATED THEM BACK WHICH THEY HUNG UP THE PHONE QUICKLY. IF THEY CALL YA FROM THIS PHONE LINE, DO WHAT I DID AND YELL BACK.

I got the same call today 3-8-12 that kristie got 3-1, from the same pho #858-222-0687 he said his name was Glen from the Law Firm of Davis and Dixon. That American Payday Cash was filing fraud charges againist me, they wanted to make an example of me. he only called because he checked my credit report and that i never had any trouble, and to let me know about the charges, we went back and forth for 5 calls, first 2 times i called him ( he had left me a voicemail) He hung up on me and only said have my lawyer call him, the third call i told him he needs to talk to me,he had all my info,i got off the phone with him, i called the Harris Texas D.A. office which didnt do much good but did tell me they couldn’t do anything, then i called a payday loan company about what had happened, they told there is a scam going around.i called Glen back and i asked him what could he do for me( so far he had not asked for any money) he said what was i thinking, he said he could not stop it, but he would talk to the lawyers and see if we could work something out and i could pay it back.He had already told me with what american payday was spending i could owe as much as $8000.00 remember i did not borrow any money from these people. i told him i had to call the D.A. back they wanted to know what they said, a little later Glen called me back wanted to know i was going to do, I said the D.A. told to let them go ahead and bring them any paper work i get from them. Glen got upset and they were going to start the process,and i would be served Friday Morning and he hung up on me. again the the phone number was 858-222-0687, But i am worried with all the info they have can they take money out of my checking account ? Thank you for any help or info you can give me, will they keep calling?
