Tags: , , ,

The following email is being sent from Stephan Berman at expayday@live.com. The subject line reads “LAWSUIT ## DEBT.

I am reasonably certain that this is just another fraud payday loan collection tactic by our Indian scam artist friends.

You can read more about this scam HERE or get a list of phone numbers they use HERE.

Here is the full text of the email:

DON’T IGNORE THIS MESSAGE

KINDLY FORGIVE US IF YOU RECEIVE THIS EMAIL IN JUNK/SPAM FOLDER

PLEASE DO NOT FORCE US TO DRAG YOU TO COURT HOUSE AND RESPOND US IMMEDIATELY

My name is Stephen and I am a legal adviser with “EZ PAYDAY law firm.” This is about the law suit against your name.

I want you to note down the case number first. Your case no is A0078R89

Affidavit:

EZ PAYDAY is pressing charges against your name regarding three serious criminal allegations:
count (1) Violation of federal banking regulations.
count (2) Collateral cheque fraud.
count (3) Theft by deception.

Now, this means three thing for you.If you are under any state probation or payroll I need you to inform your superior or manager what you have done in the past and what would be the consequences once the case has been downloaded and executed in your name.

This is to inform you that the creditors do have all the rights and authorities to inform your employer what you have done in the past and what will be the consequences once the case will be downloaded and executed against your name.

AS PER CHAPTER 7 AND 11 WE HAVE ALL THE RIGHTS RESERVED TO INFORM TO FBI, FTCP, YOUR EMPLOYER AND BANK ABOUT FRAUD.

The entire cost for this law suit is $5468.89 which is excluding loan amount, attorney’s fees, and the interest charges. you have the right to hire an attorney. If you don’t have one or if you can’t afford then one will be appointed for you, but please make sure you have someone to take you out of jail when the judge hears the case.

I have a last question for you. Did you default this loan intentionally or is it because of the circumstances you were unable to pay the loan?

Regards,

Manager Stephen || EZ PAYDAY.

Hello, I just received the same exact email this morning. I have already contacted Homeland Security to report this scam and if you would like to contact them the number is 989-497-0580. I agree with the comments above, I have placed fraud alerts on all 3 credit bureaus. There is already stress in my life and I don’t need incosiderate, lying, pieces of *&^%^& harrasing me for something that I did not do. I believe in Karma and this too will boomerang back to Stephan Berman

Hello to all of my fellow victims,
I received this email as well – I responded to ‘Stephen’ and asked him where I should mail my check, then added a few choice words. ‘Stephen’ replied, in bold red letters apparently to threaten me, “SEE YOU IN COURT BITCH”. I told Stephen that court is the safest place that he will see me …. and that I hope he sleeps well. (Asshole, on his best day). I am going to play his cat and mouse game, because I’m just in a mood I suppose :) Stay tuned … I will post updates. I, too, have found a website (fbi.gov/scams-safety/e-scams) to report this CRIME and have done so. I will also follow Pissed Offs advice and add the Homeland Security to my complaint. Good luck to everyone!

Steven Berman has been contacting me for over three years. Now he knows my phone number, address, social security number and where I work. He has become more agressive. I contacted the FBI and Homeland Security. I am contacting my employer just in case they think I really don’t want to pay my bills. Try to get his address. Last known address is in California in a small apartment complex because he used the name of Anderson attorney at law. Here are some phone numbers that he uses +3232840808, 316-771-8800, 1-800-898-7105 These are all the numbers I have on him so far.

Good Luck to one and all!

I had a call from these people. they knew the last four of my social, my phone number of course, and employer. They told me I would be arrested by today if I didn’t pay them money. I told them If money was owned to them it was because someone used my name and got my name by fraud. They continued to want to know if I had a lawyer. When I started yelling they hung up. I contacted the Attorney Generals office in Florida and California. They both said this was fraud, but nothing thay could do about it. I have their phone number but of course it’s always busy. They had me so upset I thought I was going to have a heart attack. If the number calls me again I think I’ll try to blow a whistle in their ear maybe it will damage their hearing. I like having a name now maybe we should start a suit against him for harrasement!

I got this same email this morning and promptly forwarded it to our Dept. of Consumer Finance agency. They have helped me in the past find out if a payday lender is legally allowed to lend in my state. This one is not. It was recommended that I file a complaint with DCFS and the Dept. of Justice, which I will. I am always tipped off when these people have heavy accents, use bad grammar, and threaten people. Any legit company would not use those tactics. If only I could find out where this a-hole was really located, I would file a complaint with the BBB. I just did this against two other companies and it actually worked. I really appreciate all the comments, everyone on here is so helpful with their info!

This is totally a scam… I got got a telephone call from a heavy-accented indian person claming they are from BBC saying that they were suing me for all of the above reasons for a $300 pay day loan that I have proof that I NEVER recieved. I had applied online which was completely stupid because they kept sending me to webistie to website where I filled out all of my “required” information. I yelled at the guy and he hung up on me… well I called this guy right back. I told him that if a lawsuit is TRULY being filed against me, SERVE me with papers… send me proof because I have bank statements going back 10 years and I just went through throught the last few months and there is no deposit for ANY payday loan for which I did applied for but never recieved. I wonder how many people have paid these jerks because of the scare tactics they are using? I bet they are using the consumer information inout by the cunsumer and making up false allegations. What does bother me is that they have my employers contact information as well as my family members/references. F@$35-ing criminals… who do I report these jerks to? I live in Arizona BTW…
