Collection Agency Pressler & Pressler Under Attack

Tags: , , , , ,

New Jersey Debt Collectors Pressler & Pressler, LLP are under attack for their collection practices. A New Jersey consumer, Scott Mills, has exposed some of their tactics and publicizes their practices on his blog. His list of complaints against them is lengthy.

Well, it turns out Pressler & Pressler fought back and filed a claim against Scott Mills for libel. However, on Friday the judge dismissed the preliminary injunction motion in a victory for Mr. Mills.

To add insult to injury for Pressler, Scott’s website and his story were picked up by a Huffington Post blogger who wrote this article on Scott and his case.

Seems like a bad week for Pressler & Pressler. However, at least they’re not collecting on dead people! For more on their practices, see the video below:

I have fallen victim to Pressler and Pressler’s vicious tactics and now face a $20,000 wage garnishment. I never knew or was served any court papers. The original debt was $7,000 from 2002 and I have just begun working after a long period of illness. I have been consistently told that Pressler and Pressler only speak to Lawyers and if I cant afford one too bad. I would gladly make affordable payment arrangements with my creditors but now my paychecks are 25% of my gross pay less.
I wish the NJ attorney general would stop these preditors like Andrew Cuomo is in NY. By the way I also pay child support of $900+ per month so with the punishing garnishment, I barely make ends meet.

It’s against the law if you are paying child support…..it’s a double dip, they cannot do it, and if any judge said so, it’s bullsh*t…….get yourself in front of a judge……if this is what they are telling you

You need to fight Pressler and pressler. it is fraud if they did not serve you legal papers properly….this action can vacate a judgment. they did that to me, and i filed a motion to vacate a judgment, based on improper service of legal papers.(they deliberately put papers at wrong address). there is a right we have called “due process” – it means that you have the right to get notice if you need to appear in court and you have the right to defend yourself in court. if you can prove that you never got the legal papers because of wrong address or whatever …. you have a shot at getting rid of the judgment. look it up on the internet….its called “improper service of legal papers” for which pressler is famous!!!!
