Jessica - unfortunately, it is legal for a company collecting on their own debt to show up at your home. In most states, there is little or no protection to consumers for the collection tactics of a first-party collector, meaning someone collecting on their own debt. It is also legal for a 3rd-party collector to show up at your home, but if you ask them to Cease and Desist, they must.
